Bridgman & Bridgman LLP, established in 2006 by father and son, Neil and Christopher Bridgman following their lifelong careers in horticulture.
Targeting the commercial landscape sector resulted in the company working on numerous prestigious projects including T5 Heathrow airport, BBC Television Centre, Tottenham Hotspurs FC, Canary Wharf & Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park.
In 2009 Bridgman & Bridgman installed their first living roof in Brighton. Since then the team have become specialists in their field and have constructed Europe’s largest turf roof, the UK’s first fully removable ‘convertible’ green roof, worked on BBC DIY SOS Great Ormond Street Hospital roof garden and numerous green roofs across the country, including the Outer Hebrides
In 2014 Bridgman’s became the first living roof installer in the country to achieve a National Vocational Qualification in green roof construction and maintenance, assessed by European Green Roof Federation president, Dusty Gedge.
In the 10th year of trading, Bridgman & Bridgman won Business Achievement Awards, a Best UK Green Roof Award, a National Green Apple Environmental Award and a European Green Roof Beauty Contest.
Neil Bridgman received an RHS Long -Service medal for over 40 years’ service to Horticulture. Over £60,000 plus time and resources donated to local charities and community projects since 2006.
1 million hours worked, incident and injury free, RHS Gold and 5-star awards – Britain in Bloom and Chelsea Flower show projects.
In 2019, Apprentice Abigail Sunasky awarded a Horticulture Week New Generation Award, the team received a BALI National Landscape Award and Special Award for IKEA Greenwich, two RCI National Pitched Roofing Awards for the Isle of Harris and Bransholme pumping station green roof. In 2020, Chris Bridgman awarded an MBE for services to the Community.
In 2020 the Green Roof Project was established creating a Live Lab on the roof of Saxon Court in Milton Keynes. As well as showcasing the benefits of green roofs to the general public and decision makers the project also trained three residents from the YMCA Milton Keynes in green roofing.
Green Roof Project won the MKBAA Environment and Sustainability Award.
Bridgman and Bridgman won the Pro Landscaper Industry Collaboration Award.
The green roof project relocated the green roof from Saxon Court to the YMCA Milton Keynes roof top.
Kirsty-Louise Bridgman joins the partnership. Bridgman's specialist team installed a wild flower green roof on the tallest modular building in the world, 163 meters above ground level.
Chris Bridgman MBE is a specialist in green roof design, installation, maintenance and training. Chris’ portfolio includes the construction of the largest turf roof in Europe and a world first, fully removable/convertible green roof. Working on a range of projects from small scale domestic schemes and community engagement programmes to major commercial infrastructure projects across the UK, clients and collaborations include Emporio Armani, Vogue, Dorchester Collection, IKEA, Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew and RHS Chelsea Flower Show. Chris’ work has been recognised with multiple UK and International awards.
Chris Bridgman was the first NVQ qualified green roof installer in Europe before going on to lead on the creation of a UK green roof training qualification suite, is Vice Chair of the Board and executive director of GRO – the Green Roof Organisation (UK trade association) and Founder of World Green Roof Day.
